Contact

Contact the editorial desk

One desk handles everything: corrections, data requests, accessibility barriers, media enquiries and membership. Messages are read by an editor, not routed by a system, which is why we ask you to tell us which of those five things you need.

Response times we hold ourselves to

General enquiries: two business days. Reported errors: acknowledged in two business days, corrected within five business days of confirmation. Accessibility barriers: triaged within five business days. Media enquiries: one business day during office hours. If we are going to miss one of these, we write and say so.

Part 2

Send an enquiry

Fields marked required must be completed. We ask for the least information that lets us answer you.

Helpful if you are writing on behalf of a library, board, municipality or newsroom.

If you are reporting an error, please include what the page says and what you believe it should say. If you are requesting data, name the measure, the geography and the period.

We use what you send only to answer you, keep enquiry correspondence for two years, and never add you to a mailing list from this form. See the privacy notice.

Part 3

What to send, and what to expect back

Reporting an error

Include the page address, the figure as it appears, and what you believe it should be. If you have a source, name it. You will receive an acknowledgement within two business days and, if the report is confirmed, a link to the published correction. If we cannot confirm it, we write back explaining why and keep the exchange on file.

Requesting data

Name the measure, the geography and the period. If we hold it, we point you to it or send it. If we do not, we say so plainly and, where we can, name the publisher who does. We do not build custom datasets and we do not run analyses to order.

Accessibility barriers

Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, and the assistive technology you were using if that is relevant. Reports are triaged within five business days and open findings are published with their status in the accessibility statement.

Media and background

Editors will talk through what a measure can and cannot support before you publish, on background, at no charge and without exclusivity. This is the conversation we most want to have and the one most often skipped.

Part 4

Location

By transit

Rideau station is a four-minute walk. Several frequent bus routes stop on Rideau Street directly outside the building.

By bicycle

Covered racks are available at the rear of the building, reached from Besserer Street. The Rideau Canal pathway is a six-minute ride.

Accessibility

Step-free entrance from Rideau Street, lift to the fourth floor, accessible washroom on the same floor. Tell us in advance if you need anything else arranged.
