Terms of use

By using whab.digital you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to everyone: readers, members, partners and automated agents alike.

Text, charts, explanatory notes and reports produced by Whab may be reproduced, quoted, printed, translated and redistributed, including for commercial purposes, on three conditions:

1. Attribute. Name Whab and link to the page you took the material from. Where a figure originated with a statistical agency or another publisher, credit them too.
2. Do not distort. Do not alter a figure, chart or quotation in a way that changes what it says. Cropping an axis, removing a caveat, or presenting a value without its reference period all count as distortion under these terms.
3. Do not imply endorsement. Using our material does not mean we endorse your argument, organisation, product or conclusion, and you may not suggest that it does.

Underlying source material remains subject to the licence applied by whoever published it first. Our permission covers our assembly, presentation and explanation; it cannot grant rights we do not hold.

The Whab name and mark are not covered by this permission and may not be used to identify your own work or organisation.

You may not use this platform to do anything unlawful, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any connected system, to interfere with its operation, or to place a load on it that degrades service for others. Automated retrieval is permitted at a courteous rate; sustained high-frequency requests may be rate limited or blocked. If you need bulk access, write to the editorial desk and ask — that is usually easier for both of us.

We assemble material carefully and publish our method in full, but we cannot guarantee that everything on this platform is accurate, complete or current at the moment you read it. Sources revise. Definitions change. Errors occur, and when they do we correct them in the open. Figures on this platform are illustrative of the platform’s structure and should not be treated as official statistics; consult the original publisher for authoritative values.

The platform is provided as it is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it. Scheduled changes are announced in the newsroom.

Material here is published for general information. It is not professional advice of any kind and must not be relied on as the sole basis for a decision that carries legal, financial, planning, health or safety consequences. Decisions of that sort should rest on the original source material and, where appropriate, on professional advice.

We link to source publications so that readers can check our work. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement. External sites have their own terms and privacy practices.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

We may change these terms. Material changes are announced in the newsroom and the version number and in-force date at the top of this page are updated. This is version 2.4, in force from 1 April 2026.
