Cookie notice
This platform sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It stores four display preferences in your own browser, and that is the whole of it. This page explains what they are and how to remove them.
What this site stores
Strictly speaking we do not use cookies at all. We use local storage, a browser feature that keeps a small amount of information on your own device and, unlike a cookie, is never transmitted to our server. We describe it here because most readers looking for a cookie notice want to know what is being kept about them, and the honest answer is that four display settings are, and nothing else.
| Key | Purpose | Retained | Sent to us |
|---|---|---|---|
| whab-theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark presentation. | Until cleared | No |
| whab-contrast | Remembers whether high-contrast mode is on. | Until cleared | No |
| whab-size | Remembers your chosen text size. | Until cleared | No |
| whab-motion | Records a preference for reduced motion where your system does not already state one. | Until cleared | No |
What this site does not do
- No advertising cookies, pixels or beacons. We carry no advertising.
- No third-party analytics scripts. We do not use hosted analytics products.
- No social media embeds or share widgets, which are a common source of silent tracking.
- No cross-site or cross-device identifiers, and no profile of you.
- No consent banner, because there is nothing here that requires consent to store.
Third-party requests
Two external services are contacted by your browser when you use this platform, and both may set their own storage under their own policies:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on every page. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which will see your IP address and standard request headers.
- Google Maps is embedded on the contact page only, and loads only when you scroll to it. If you never open that page, no request is made.
Both are described in the privacy notice. If you block these services at the browser level, this platform still works: text falls back to a system typeface and the map is replaced by the written address, which is on the page in any case.
Removing what is stored
Clearing site data for whab.digital in your browser removes all four preference keys. The platform continues to work; it simply reverts to its defaults and follows your operating system’s light or dark setting.
You can also browse in a private window, in which case nothing persists after the window closes, or block local storage for this site entirely. Blocking it means your display preferences will reset each time you arrive, which is inconvenient but breaks nothing.
Questions
If something on this page does not match what you observe in your browser’s developer tools, we want to know immediately. Write to info@whab.digital. A discrepancy between what we say we store and what we actually store would be a serious failure and would be published as a correction.
